Conversions happen when Preparation meets Opportunity. Black Friday 2019.

Get your marketing ready for this year’s holiday season.

Black Week (Monday before Black Friday–Cyber Monday)

There are certain dates each year in the marketers calendar which can drive a lot of conversions, but that can only happen when preparation meets opportunity. Black Friday + Cyber Monday are two of those dates (among many others in this holiday season).

Whether you are doing all campaigns on your own, or you are cooperating with an Agency (even many Agencies) the numbers may vary. Feel free to do the exercise below based on how YOUR company works. Not matter the outcome Do Not Panic! :)

Let’s get back to how we prepare! As the above exercise clearly illustrated…. today is the right time to start thinking and working on your strategy and your campaigns. With great power comes great responsibility and you have a lot to work on if you’d like to take full advantage of such dates in order to boost conversions for your brand or for your customers if you are working in an Agency.

“Globally, shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday grew by 9% and 15%, respectively, between the 2017 and 2018 seasons”.

The Pre-holiday section includes the: Preparation (June-August) and Building Momentum (September — October) sub sections.

Start Early because your customers will do too. According to Facebook, in 2018:

Here is a list of things to keep in mind and start preparing for the day(s):

Last but not least:
CREATE A HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS & COMMUNICATIONS CALENDAR!
CREATE A HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS & COMMUNICATIONS CALENDAR!
CREATE A HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS & COMMUNICATIONS CALENDAR!

You could do it in Trello, on a Google Sheet, on any platform you wish actually. What matters most is that you CREATE IT!

Once you’ve decided what your campaigns will be, you can start building momentum about them weeks before Black Friday.

When the Black week is all over… like it or not, it is the only time of the year that there is NO TIME TO RECOVER from your digital hangover!!! Christmas is around the corner and you need to keep on campaign-ing, keep on convert-ing, keep on driving sales!

For your Black Friday campaigns make sure you setup some retargeting campaigns so that you can follow up (sooner or later — based on your strategy) with people who did not buy something that very day. As I said, Christmas is just around the corner, and after Christmas, Sale begins. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to play around.

A few things to keep in mind when setting up your retargeting Ads:

If you’d like to get some ideas for your the rest of the Holiday season campaigns you could check out what I posted last year: the “Ultimate Guide to Christmas Conversions for Websites”. This year’s version is not ready yet, but I am sure you’ll get some value out of it.

Have you started your digital preparations? Any valuable tips & tricks or ideas to make the most out of it? Don’t forget, sharing is caring!
Oh… and Happy Conversions!!!
