Couches and Dating

Dating is like buying a couch.
You don’t want to buy the first or even second one that you see.
But sometimes,
you come back for it.

Then there’s that certain one that you have
always had your eye on, your
dream couch.

But, it was a
one-of-a-kind, and somebody else already
bought it.

Or maybe, it
doesn’t ship to your location,
or maybe, it’s
out of your current price range. So, you keep looking…

You don’t want to choose too quickly,
because couches are hard to move, hard to assemble and
hard to dispose of.

They’re hard to return. Hard to clean.
Hard to
get up from (yet easy to sink into),
because they are comfortable.

So you settle into your couch and wonder if that’s really the
best couch that you could’ve purchased.

And sometimes, you wish that you were still couch shopping…or even
couch surfing.

So don’t buy a couch too quickly.
The floor will do just fine for now.
